What is Purchase Protection Insurance?
Purchase Protection, powered by Mastercard, covers purchases made anywhere in the world, using the BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard. The Insurer will pay for loss of Covered Purchases due to Accidental Damage or Theft, occurring within one hundred eighty (180) days from the date of purchase as indicated on the store receipt, up to the Per Occurrence Limit, and subject to the Annual Aggregate Limit per cardholder.
Who is the insurance provider of Purchase Protection Insurance?
The insurance provider of Purchase Protection Insurance is AIG Philippines Insurance, Inc. (AIG). BPI is merely making available the provision of such insurance product by a qualified third party, authorized and licensed to engage in insurance business in the relevant territory. BPI is not a provider or broker of insurance and does not act as a third-party adjuster, claims assessor, or as an agent for the underwriter or any other party.
What is the coverage of the Purchase Protection Insurance?

Purchases of BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard cardholders are covered up to USD 500 per claim, per annum.
Does the cardholder need to keep copies of receipts or any other records of purchase?
Yes. In case a claim needs to be filed later on, the cardholder will need to send in a copy of the receipt or invoice that clearly identifies the item and that the purchase was made using the eligible BPI Platinum Rewards Mastercard. Receipts or invoices for online purchases are usually sent to the cardholder via email.
