By investing and maintaining a minimum of Php 800,000 in BPI Wealth Builder, you become eligible to receive Php 500 daily hospital income benefit via BPI AIA’s Group Insurance Hospital Income Benefit, giving you protection in case of hospitalization while you continue to grow your wealth and secure your future.

Your eligibility is based on the higher value between your BPI Wealth Builder investment cost and market value as of the last business day of each month ("Record Date").

Yes, clients are covered by this insurance protection from 18 up to 65 years old only.   

No medical examination is required to qualify for the benefit. However, by investing in BPI Wealth Builder, clients confirm they are in good health and capable of performing daily activities solely and independently. Future claims will undergo evaluation by BPI AIA to confirm eligibility and coverage.

Yes, claims arising from pre-existing conditions are not covered. A pre-existing condition refers to any illness or condition that has been investigated, diagnosed, or treated within six (6) months before the effectivity of your benefit. Future claims will undergo evaluation by BPI AIA to confirm eligibility and coverage.

BPI AIA’s Group Insurance Hospital Income Benefit offers a benefit coverage of Php 500 daily income for each day of hospital confinement due to the same or related injury or illness, up to a maximum of three hundred sixty-five (365) days in one coverage year.

The following are some qualifications/conditions considered for claims:

• Your hospital confinement must be at least twelve (12) hours, based on a recommendation of a physician or medical doctor who is not the insured nor part of your immediate family, and supported by hospital room charges.
• The hospital must have capabilities for diagnosis, major surgery, and full-time nursing service. This does not include nursing homes, rest home for the aged, place for custodial care, or other places with a similar purpose.
• You can claim income up to 365 days of confinement (in one coverage year)   for the same injury or illness, or its complications. Multiple confinements for the same cause are allowed as long as these occur within six (6) months from the previous hospital stay. 

More details on the insurance coverage, including specific exclusions, may be found in the Group Master Policy. Future claims undergo evaluation by BPI AIA to confirm eligibility and coverage. 

The complimentary insurance coverage of BPI Wealth Builder investors as of Record Date takes effect on the first calendar day of the following month. It is subject to monthly review and remains active for one coverage year  as long as the client maintains the required investment in the fund and does not meet any disqualification criteria (e.g., exceeding the 65-year-old age limit).

After the first year of coverage, your benefit refreshes upon expiration of your current coverage, provided you remain invested with at least Php 800,000 in BPI Wealth Builder and you are still within the 18-65 year old age limit.

If your BPI Wealth Builder investment falls below Php 800,000 due to a withdrawal, your benefit may be suspended and will only be reactivated once you meet the required Milestone again, and subject to the completion of the standard activation processes and timelines indicated in the above mechanics. Please note that this may change your insurance effectivity date to the date of benefit reactivation. If you fully redeem your investment, your insurance benefit will be revoked.

As part of the claims process, you may be required to provide your Policy Number. You can find the Group Policy Number in the attached Group Master Policy.

Hospital income benefit claims require a notice of hospitalization within thirty (30) days from the start of confinement and proof of hospitalization within ninety (90) days from the date of discharge. Please remember to immediately file notices/claims to avoid invalidation or reduction of benefits. 

Hospital income benefit is typically paid in lumpsum after your discharge, contingent on the submission of complete requirements and favorable evaluation of BPI AIA. In case of extended hospitalization (e.g., more than 10 days), you may request for periodic benefit payment subject to the terms and approval of BPI AIA.

The hospital income benefit is payable to you during your lifetime. In the event of your passing, your dependents may receive the benefit in this order:

a. Widow/widower

b. Surviving children born to or legally adopted by you

c. Suriviving parents

d. Suriviving siblings

If none of the above beneficiaries are present, the benefit will go to your estate.

Future claims undergo evaluation by BPI AIA to confirm eligibility and coverage. You can receive benefit coverage from both benefit coverages subject to maximum daily limit as prescribed by BPI AIA.
