1. Principal Cardholders of a BPI Gold Rewards Card, BPI Rewards Card, or BPI Edge Card who meet the eligibility criteria and are in good credit standing may receive a notification regarding the upgrade to a BPI Platinum Rewards Card via SMS or via their BPI app.
2. The Principal Cardholder must follow the instructions specified in the notification and key in the unique alphanumeric promo code along with the last four (4) digits of their customer number. The customer number can be found in the Principal Cardholder’s BPI app or Statement of Account.
3. Upon requesting for an upgrade, the Principal Cardholder will receive a message confirming the receipt of their upgrade request.
4. The Principal Cardholder will receive the validation result of their card upgrade request within five (5) to seven (7) banking days on their BPI-registered mobile number.
5. The unique promo code submitted for the upgrade request must match the last four (4) digits of the Principal Cardholder’s customer number. A mismatch in these two inputs will result in an invalid upgrade request.
6. The unique promo code for upgrading to a BPI Platinum Rewards Card is valid for a limited time only, with the end date specified in the notification sent by BPI. Attempts to upgrade using the unique promo code after the offer has expired will result in an invalid upgrade request.
7. Upon successful validation of the upgrade request, the Principal Cardholder’s upgraded BPI Platinum Rewards Card will be delivered within ten (10) banking days.
8. The Principal Cardholder must activate their new card before availing the benefits associated with a BPI Platinum Rewards Card.
9. The Principal Cardholder's existing BPI Gold Rewards Card, BPI Rewards Card, or BPI Edge Card will be canceled twenty (20) days after activating their new BPI Platinum Rewards Card. If the 20th day falls on a weekend or holiday, the existing card will be canceled on the next banking day.
The canceled card must be properly disposed of by cutting it into several pieces. Ensure that the EMV chip is damaged and properly perforated to prevent any unauthorized use of the card.
10. The statement cutoff date of the new card will remain the same after upgrade. There is no need to transfer balances from the existing card to the new card.
11. Any enrolled auto-charge or bill payment facility on the existing card will need to be re-enrolled and transferred to the new card.
12. The membership fee for a BPI Platinum Rewards Card is free for the first year. For succeeding years, the membership fee is Php 4,000 charged annually and can be waived once a minimum annual spend of Php 600,000 has been reached.
Reminder: BPI will never ask for you to surrender your physical card, your account information or One-Time PIN (OTP) via email, SMS, or phone call.
