Mastercard Automatic Billing Updater (ABU) is a new service by Mastercard that helps you avoid online transaction declines due to changes in your card number or card expiry, with your card-on-file merchants.
Convenience
There's no need to manually update your card information when your card details change.
Seamless Payments
Avoid declined transactions due to changes on your card details, such as having a new BPI ePay Mastercard card number as a result of an expired, lost, or stolen card.
*Card replacements due to lost or stolen cards will be implemented at a later date. An advisory will be sent to you once this is implemented.
For card renewal, the ABU service will still be implemented on March 27, 2021

What is a card-on-file automated payment?
Card-on-file transactions are payments processed using a card number you have stored with a merchant or website with whom you have created an account and saved your card information.
How does the Mastercard Automatic Billing Updater (ABU) service work?
It enables automatic updating of your enrolled card details to partner merchants of Mastercard in case your card expires, or you change your card. It will provide convenience because you won’t need to enter your new card details such as Card Number, Expiry, and CVC of your card because Mastercard will do it for you, to avoid payment interruptions or transaction declines.
Will all the merchants where I saved my card details in, update my card details automatically?
Mastercard ABU is only available to participating merchants. You will have to check with your merchant to ensure that your card information is updated, and that your bills are paid on time.
