The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) held its first public run, dubbed as BPI #BestLifeRun, on Sunday aiming to promote the importance of holistic well-being as an essential component in managing life. This is part of the company’s activities to mark its Sustainability Awareness Month.

Held along Ayala Avenue in Makati City, the #BestLifeRun is part of BPI Well, the company’s wellness program that aims to build the habit of living a healthier lifestyle. Runners included BPI clients and employees, as well as their families, and even their dogs.

“Our customer obsession starts from within. Our employees are our internal customers, and they enable us to ensure a delightful service to Filipinos. This activity is also Makati’s first major public fun run after the pandemic. Our mission is to help build a better Philippines—one family, one community at a time— through our sustainability initiatives and family-oriented activities,” said BPI President and CEO TG Limcaoco.

For every race kit purchased, Php 200 will be used to fund environment and sustainability projects of BPI Foundation, the social development arm of BPI.

BPI prioritizes the well-being of its employees. Unibankers are encouraged to focus on their physical, mental, and social wellness, and the #BestLife Run aims to make all participants aware of the importance of physical wellness.

“We have to take care of ourselves so we can take care of our families and our customers.  We encourage everyone to carry on with a healthy and holistic wellness lifestyle,” said BPI Chief Human Resources Officer Gina Eala.

The five categories of BPI #BestLifeRun distances include 10K, 5K, 3K, 1K, and 1K with dog. A Zumba session was also held for non-runners and those who finished the race early. As the event coincided with Father’s Day, fathers who participated in the event were given special surprise tokens.

Marking the Bank’s second year of its Sustainability Awareness Month, the #BestLifeRun further reinforces BPI’s commitment to be more sustainable in the way it conducts its business and to inspire Filipinos to embrace a more sustainable lifestyle.
